Installed in the Metro Kobe underground commercial district between Kosoku-Kobe and Shinkaichi stations, this large-scale installation presents viewers with a seemingly never-ending space-time continuum synchronized with an underground passage over 100 meters long. A bathroom without bathtubs nor taps, but only metal fittings? It seems to be a bathroom under construction, but in Schneider’s hands it becomes more than merely a room. The ordinary and the extraordinary intersect and transform into a scene where ever interpreting one’s location requires considerable attention.
